Mayurbhanj, Jan 28: In a major achievement, forest personnel seized more than 700 country-made guns from different areas of Similipal sanctuary in Mayurbhanj district in the last three years. 

Odisha Principal Chief Conservator Of Forests (PCCF) Susanta Nanda informed to the media persons at Baripada about the seizure. 

The seized illegal ammos will be destroyed gradually in the coming days, said the PCCF.  

Currently, the PCCF is on a two-day visit to Mayurbhanj today. Today, he graced a special programme organised by the Similipal Tiger Project Foundation. Seeing the seized guns, he praised the concerned forest divisions. 

On the occasion, he requested locals to hand over illegal guns, if they have any, at forest offices or police stations to avoid stringent action.
