Bhubaneswar, Nov 7: A four-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted and killed in a slum under the Airfield police station limits on yesterday. The accused reportedly slit her throat to death as she shouted for help. 

The parents of the child are daily wage labourers and had gone to work. On their return, they saw their daughter lying in a pool of blood. They rushed her to the hospital, but doctors declared her brought dead.

According to complaint, their drunkard neighbour often used to lure the girl with chocolates. On Monday, the accused found the child alone and assaulted her sexually. When she screamed for help, he killed her by slitting her throat.
 
To evade arrest the culprit has absconded. A manhunt has been launched to nab the accused said Police after sending the body for post mortem.
