41 Died Of Sunstroke So Far In Odisha, Says Public Health Director

Bhubaneswar, June 10: Reacting to the deaths caused by heatwave, the Public Health Director has said that 41 people have died of sunstroke, while 73 deaths are still under investigation. According to SRC's report, some of the bodies were taken away by the family members without post-mortem.
Sixteen heatwave cases were reported Sunday. As many as 2269 heatwave patients have been treated so far in 2024. A few cases of anthrax were reported from Lakshmipur and Yashbantpur May 22 and 30. Out of 11 cases, two anthrax patients have been identified. The reports of remaining samples are yet to come. Rapid Action Team have checked their health conditions.
The rain has come earlier than usual. So far 235 dengue cases have been reported, while three patients have been identified Sunday. Out of the three, two belong to Puri and one from Bhubaneswar.

✨All district hospitals have been directed to open separate dengue wards. Most of the dengue cases have been reported from Khordha, Malkangiri and Puri. All districts have been alerted and hospitals were directed to keep platelets available.
Cuttack, Khordha and Puri have been asked to be on high alert. As many as 111 to 113 dengue patients, including 19 from Cuttack, 65 from Khordha, 17 from Malkangiri and 10 to 12 in Sundargarh, have been identified. A special drive is being conducted due to the rising number of dengue cases in the city. No dengue deaths has been reported so far in 2024.
