Four of five Odia labourers, safely rescued yesterday after remaining trapped in the Uttarkashi tunnel for over two weeks, reached Biju Patnaik International Airport here today. 

Bhubaneswar, Dec 1: Four of five Odia labourers, safely rescued yesterday after remaining trapped in the Uttarkashi tunnel for over two weeks, reached Biju Patnaik International Airport here today. 

Sources said that the fifth rescued person, Tapan Manda of Bhadrak, will return home with his brother later. 

The health condition of all the workers is stated to be fine. After health checkups and other procedures, they have been allowed to return home. 

However, they have been advised to be in touch with the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS regarding their health issues.

Uttarkashi, Nov 28: All the 41 workers trapped inside the Silkyara tunnel in Uttarakhand since November 12, have been successfully rescued, officials said on Tuesday evening.

Notably, 41 labourers were trapped inside the under-construction Silkyara tunnel after a portion it caved in on November 12
After massive rescue operations, all the trapped workers, including five Odia people, were rescued on November 28 evening. 
After operations, NDRF and SDRF personnel entered the tunnel and rescued the workers.

The grand achievement has been commended world wide.
