Kendrapara, Feb 26: In a shocking incident, three people were killed and four others sustained critical injuries after a Bolero hit a roadside tree near the petrol pump at Ostapur under the Sadar police station limits in Kendrapara district this morning.

There were seven people in the car of whom five were jatra artists. one was a commom man and the rest one was the driver.

Three women from among the jatra artists were killed in the incident. However, their identity is yet to be ascertained.

The incident took place when they were returning from Kendrapara after a rehearsal.

According to the information, the Bolero driver lost control which resulted in the accident. Three people died on spot and four were critically injured.

The critically injured were taken to the Kendrapara district headquarters hospital. 

On being informed, police reached the spot and started an investigation. .

The death toll is expected to rise further.
