Baripada, Sep 6: A 25-year-old man who went missing after accidentally falling into the Budhabalanga River while fishing was found dead on Sunday, with Fire Services personnel recovering his body from the river near Khuntapal village in Odisha's Mayurbhanj district.
The deceased was identified as Ranjit Palei, son of Chaitan Palei from Belapal village under the jurisdiction of Badasahi police station.
According to the source, Ranjit was fishing from a bridge over the Budhabalanga River near Belapal on Saturday afternoon when he lost his balance and fell into the river.
The strong current is believed to have swept him away within moments, following which he went missing.
Search Operation Launched
After receiving information about the incident, the Fire Services team from Badasahi Fire Station reached the spot and launched a search operation. Despite extensive efforts, rescuers could not locate Ranjit till Saturday midnight.
The deceased was identified as Ranjit Palei, son of Chaitan Palei from Belapal village under the jurisdiction of Badasahi police station.

Tragic Death In Bhubaneswar
In a similar incident reported from Bhubaneswar, the body of a missing youth was recovered from the Daya river at around 11 am on Sunday after an extensive search operation by the Fire Services personnel.
The deceased was identified as Bhabani Shankar Khatei, a resident of Barik Sahi in Bhubaneswar’s Old Town area, who had gone missing after jumping into the river from the Tankapani Bridge late Saturday night, the source added.
