Rourkela, May 31: As many as 14 persons died unnatural death at the Rourkela Government Hospital here in just six and a half hours late on Thursday night. 

While the exact reason behind the deaths is yet to be known, it is suspected that the deaths were caused by sunstroke. Besides fatalities, more than 18 people were undergoing treatment in the hospital. Of them, five have been shifted to Bhubaneswar given their critical condition. 

Medical sources said the reason behind the deaths would be known after a post-mortem is conducted. 

Though 14 people have died, the government has confirmed 12 deaths and the remaining two are yet to be recorded officially.
