Balangir, July 28: Balangiri police seized 13 kg of ganja (cannabis) and detained three persons after conducting a raid at Jhalialiti Chhak on the Khariar Road under the Lathore police station limits today.
The Lathore police had earlier been tipped off about the illegal transportation of ganja from Kandhamal to Nuapada district's Komana. Accordingly, Lathore PS IIC Rakesh Behera and his team rose to action and made the seizure and arrests.
The police have also seized a pickup van and two motorcycles from the spot. However, the pickup van driver managed to flee from the spot, taking advantage of the darkness.
