11 of 16 Slain Maoists Identified; One Belonged To Odisha

Malkangiri, Jan 24: The anti-Maoist operation on the Odisha-Chhattisgarh border ended after 70 hours with the death of 16 Red rebels.
Out of the 16 deceased Maoists, 11 have been identified of which one belonged to Odisha.
One of the three slain Odia Maoists was identified as Bauribandhu alias Muna, a resident of Cuttack's Niali area. He had fled the village in 2005 following a meeting named "Janagarjan Samavesh."

✨Reports also said the other two slain Red rebels were of Odisha cadre and they were operating Kalahandi and Nuapada units of the outlawed Maoist group. They were identified as Shankar and Jain.
As many as 10 teams of security forces comprising Chhattisgarh DIG, Odisha SOG and CRPF Jawans were involved in the 70-hour-long anti-Maoist operation.
