Bhubaneswar, Mar 10: The Odisha government seized 103 fake medicines of different uses in the last three years, Health and Family Welfare Minister Mukesh Mahaling informed the State Assembly today.


In a writen reply to a question, the Minister said the medicines were being brought from other States and sold in Odisha. The Government squad seized 103 kinds of medicines and stopped selling those medicies in the State.

Jinc sulphate, sodium, sodium lactec, and hepren were found to be of very low quality, the Minister said.


The medicines were imported from States like Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Kolkata and Hyedrabad. Four suppliers and companies manufacturing these medicimes have been blacklisted. While 45 medicines were seized in 2022-23, 32 were found low quality in 2023-24 smf 26 om 2024-25.
