Sambalpur, Feb 2: The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested 10 persons, including a professor of the Sambalpur University, on the charge of taking a bribe to heighten the NAAC tag of an educational institute of Andhra Pradesh.
The arrested professor is a member of the NAAC team formed to oversee the NAAC status of the institute located at Guntur in Andhra Pradesh.
The CBI made the arrests after conducting raids at 20 places in Sambalpur city. The Central investigating team raided the NAAC member's house late on Saturday night. Besides, the team also conducted an injury in Sambalpur University.

✨Earlier, a complaint was lodged with the CBI with allegations that 10 members of the concerned NAAC team took bribes to give a higher NAAC tag to the institute.
Based on the complaint, the CBI team conducted raids and seized gold ornaments worth lakhs of rupees, hard cash of Rs 37 lakh, mobiles, and six laptops from the houses of the accused persons.
