Ganjam, Apr 18: As many as 10 houses were reduced to ashes after a major fire broke out at Dharakot village in Ganjam district late Thursday night. However, no loss of life has been reported in the incident.

According to the reports, the fire broke out in a house in the village late night and rapidly spread to other dwellings in the area.

The incident occurred late at night, and the fire department from Dharakot responded promptly, successfully bringing the flames under control.

Despite their efforts, affected families spent the night under the open sky, grappling with the aftermath of the tragedy.

The administration provided dry food to the victims overnight, offering some relief. By morning, the affected families were seen attempting to salvage their belongings from the ashes. With their homes completely destroyed, these families are now left searching for shelter and security, urging the government for immediate assistance and support.

Though the exact reason behind fire mishap is not known, it is suspected that a short circuit might have caused the flames.
