Bhubaneswar, Mar 7: Higher Education Minister Suryabanshi Suraj on Friday made a statement on the KIIT situation after a Nepali girl student committed suicide and harrasment meted out to students of Nepal pusuing studies in the private university.
The Minister said 10 officials of the KIIT Deemed To Be University have been arrested in connection with Nepali student's suicide and subsequent happenings. He said officials who harrassed Nepali students have been suspended.
Suraj further informed that a total of 13 people, including KIIT founder Achyuta Samanta, have been interrogated by the high-level fact-finding committee formed by the State government.

✨Besides, a committee of four professors from Utkal University and Rama Devi University has been formed to ensure that the situation at KIIT returns to normal and classes are conducted normally. The committee will visit the KIIT once in 15 days.
