Bhubaneswar, July 13: A person was killed and a minor boy was critically injured in an accident that occurred near the Beleswar Temple at Bhapur in the Banamalipur area under Khordha district's Balipatana police station limits last night. 

The deceased and the injured are yet to be identified. 

According to the information, the two persons were going by motorcycle when they slipped and fell into a ditch near an under-construction bridge on the Banamalipur- Nuagaon road. 

On being informed by locals, the Balipatana police went to the spot and sent the injured persons to the Community Health Centre, Balipatna. While doctors declared one of them dead, another person was shifted to the Capital Hospital Given his critical condition. 

Police have registered a case and started an investigation.
