Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan participated in the awareness padayatra as part of this initiative.
During the special event organised on this occasion, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan stated that the core objective of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visionary National Education Policy is to bring every child in the country into the school system and to provide education in their mother tongue.
The Minister emphasised that the government is actively working to reduce dropout rates, increase school enrollment, develop school infrastructure, and raise literacy levels across the nation.
Under the Ministry of Education’s flagship initiative, Ullas – Nav Bharat Saksharta Karyakram 2025, steps are also being taken to educate illiterate individuals above the age of 15, ensuring inclusive and lifelong learning opportunities for all, said the Minister.
In Sambalpur, the number of children attending school is significantly higher compared to other districts. However, at present, nearly 3,000 children across various age groups in the district remain out of school. To connect these children with formal education and skill development, the “Aasa School Jiba” campaign is a commendable initiative by the state government.
