Gurugram, Dec 10: A 28‑year‑old content creator from Gurugram has been arrested after a video showing him feeding chicken momos to a cow went viral, sparking outrage and allegations of hurting religious sentiments.
According to the police, the video, shot at Gurugram’s 56 HUDA Market, shows the accused, Ritik Chandna, buying chicken momos from a street vendor, eating a portion, and then feeding the leftovers to a cow standing nearby.
Chandna allegedly confessed to orchestrating and recording the stunt, stating that his motive was to gain online popularity. He further claimed that an unidentified individual paid him ₹3,000 to upload the video.
Public Outrage and Legal Action
The video drew immediate attention and backlash from local residents who described the act as offensive and inappropriate.

✨Reports suggest that when Chandna ignored repeated requests from neighbours to remove the video, some residents alerted a local cow‑protection group. The vigilantes then approached the Sector 56 police station and lodged a formal complaint.
Following the complaint, an FIR was registered under BNS
Section 299 (deliberate and malicious acts to outrage religious feelings) and
Section 325 (mischief by killing or maiming an animal).

Chandna was taken into police custody and later granted bail after he confessed to the crime.
Investigation is ongoing, including verification of his claim of being paid, and officials said they are also examining his social media accounts to check if similar content was posted earlier or if anyone else was involved in planning the stunt.
