Bhubaneswar, Apr 15: Humans treat their pets as their family member. A video of welcoming ceremony of little pet dog in traditional way is making rounds on social media.

In the video, two young siblings, a girl and a boy, are seen holding a Rottweiler puppy in their arms, while a woman performs aarti (a ritual) with a puja thali. Once the ceremony is concluded, the young girl lovingly brings the puppy into the house and gently places it on the floor.

The heart-melting video has captured significant attention online, accumulating over 360,000 views. The video was flooded with remarks in the comments section, with many pouring out their praises for the family’s gesture.

A user exclaimed, “This is so adorable – I love it,” while another remarked, “This is the traditional way of welcoming anyone new be it a baby or daughter in law, or after a very long time.” “Whelp, I just died from cuteness,” a person added.

An individual explained the significance of the ritual in India, stating, “Parents don’t want any bad omens to enter their home along with the dog. So they do this ritual to stop all the bad luck at the front door and the family will be safe.”
