New Delhi, Aug 1: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has officially announced the schedule for the Vice Presidential election, following the resignation of Jagdeep Dhankhar on July 21 due to health reasons.

As per the schedule, the last date for nominations is August 21, while the date of polling is September 9. The results of the election will be announced on the polling day itself, the Election Commission said.

Here is the schedule of the Vice President's election:

- Nomination Period: August 7 to August 21, 2025
- Last date for making nominations: August 21, 2025
- Date for the Scrutiny of nominations: August 22, 2025
- Date of polling (if necessary)- 9 September, 2025 (Tuesday)
- Date of counting (if required)- 9 September, 2025
