Coimbatore, July 18: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Friday visited KPR Mill Limited in Tamil Nadu’s Coimbatore, one of India’s largest vertically integrated textile and apparel manufacturing companies, and praised its transformative role in empowering women, especially those from Odisha.

In a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter), Pradhan highlighted the company’s commitment to innovation, social responsibility, and inclusive growth.
During his visit, Pradhan interacted with women workers from Odisha employed at KPR Mill and learned about their personal journeys. He expressed admiration for the company’s efforts in enabling its female workforce to pursue education and career advancement beyond the textile sector. “KPR Mill is like home and family to them,” he wrote, emphasizing the company’s nurturing environment and ethical business practices.

Pradhan, who is currently on a visit to Coimbatore, will attend the 7th convocation ceremony of IIT Palakkad tomorrow.
