New Delhi/Bhubaneswar, Feb 8: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has released multiple books under the PM YUVA 2.0 scheme in New Delhi, Saturday.
Union Minister Pradhan released the books at the Theme Pavilion of the World Book Fair 2025, which is underway at the Bharat Mandapam convention centre in the National Capital.
The Education Minister released as many as 41 books under the PM YUVA 2.0 scheme. In addition, he also released two books, published by NBT (National Book Trust).
Authors under the age of 30 had been given the opportunity to write books during the PM YUVA programme, which had been launched on the occasion of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav 2021.
Union Education Minister Pradhan released the translated versions of ‘The Saga of Kudopali: The Unsung Story of 1857’ book, which has been translated in 12 Indian languages, including Hindi.
Thanks to this initiative, the entire world will get to know the story of Veer Surendra Sai, the brave martyr of Odisha. Many heroes are mentioned along with Surendra Sai, the brave martyr of Sambalpur from 1827 to 1862.
The book tells the story of Veer Surendra Sai, an Odia freedom fighter from Sambalpur. Many heroes of India’s freedom fights are also mentioned in the book.
What is PM YUVA 2.0 scheme?
The ‘YUVA 2.0’, a scheme launched by the Ministry of Education & the Department of Higher Education, is a scheme for mentoring young authors. It is an author mentorship programme to train young and budding authors (below 30 years of age) in order to promote reading, writing and book culture in the country, and project India and Indian writings globally.
In view of the significant impact of the first edition of YUVA (Young, Upcoming and Versatile Authors) with large-scale participation from young and budding authors in 22 different Indian languages and English.
The launch of YUVA 2.0 is a part of India@75 Project (Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav) to bring to the fore the perspectives of the young generation of writers on the THEME: ‘Democracy (institutions, events, people, constitutional values – past, present, future)’ in an innovative and creative manner, in a bid to promote Indian heritage, culture and knowledge system.
