Agra, Feb 22: The Taj Mahal is a symbol of both love and amazing building skills. It is one of the Seven Wonders of the World. The Taj Mahal was built by Shah Jahan, the 5th ruler of the Mughal empire, in memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal. It is said to show the emperor’s deep and lasting love for her.

The Taj Mahal, a stunning white marble monument, was fully built in 1648, with the surrounding gardens and buildings finished by 1653. Over the years, it has attracted millions of people from around the world, though it’s also surrounded by mysteries.

There are 22 sealed chambers or rooms in the Taj Mahal that have sparked a lot of mystery and speculation. Some people believe these hidden chambers might contain treasures, while others think they could be connected to secret Hindu temples.

A Plea had been filed in 2022 asking the Lucknow bench to investigate the 22 rooms in the Taj Mahal, claiming they contained Hindu idols and could provide evidence that the monument was originally a Shiva temple. However, the court dismissed the plea, stating there was insufficient evidence to support the claim and that the Taj Mahal's history had already been well-documented by historians and archaeological experts.

Mystery Behind Sealed Taj Mahal Rooms Deepens The sealed rooms in the Taj Mahal are closed for security reasons and to prevent damage to the monument. A senior official from the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) explained that the government has the right to close any part of the monument temporarily or permanently under a law from 1958, to keep both visitors safe and protect the structure.

The official also mentioned that parts of the monument that are far inside need good lighting and staff to handle the large number of visitors, which can be difficult to manage because of the high foot traffic.

The 22 sealed rooms in the Taj Mahal have arched galleries that are similar to those found in other historic tombs in Delhi. He also mentioned that galleries were built at the site to make the monument taller, and while the area used to be open for visits, access was restricted some years ago.
