Bhubaneswar, Oct 2: Marking the completion of 10 years of the launch of one of the most significant mass movements for cleanliness in the country– the Swachh Bharat Mission, Ashish Chauhan, MD & CEO, NSE, on Wednesday said, “a clean and sustainable India is important for a robust economy.”
Chauhan also urged people to resolve to build on the past decade and make every day a step towards Swachch Bharat.
"Swachch Bharat Diwas 2024 showcases India’s decade-long movement towards cleanliness, sanitation and sustainable living through the Swachch Bharat Mission. The mission has embodied ‘Jan Bhagidari (people’s participation)’ in action. A clean and sustainable India is important for a robust economy. Swachch Bharat Mission seeks to ensure a clean environment that is conducive for India’s growth story by making cleanliness a way of life. The mission has instilled in every Indian a sense of civic responsibility and pride. Let us resolve to build on the past decade and make every day a step towards Swachch Bharat,” he said in a statement.
Swachh Bharat Mission, one of the first programmes announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi after he took office in 2014, completes 10 years today.
