Argus News - Senior Maoist Leader Ruben Surrenders Before Telangana Police

Telangana, Oct 8: In a significant development, senior Maoist leader, Ruben—also known as Suresh alias Mangna, surrendered before the Telangana Police on Tuesday.

Ruben is one of the most dreaded Maoist leaders and the mastermind behind the infamous "Jagdalpur Jail Break".

With a militant career spanning over 44 years in the Maoist organization, Ruben was involved in numerous deadly attacks targeting security forces across central India.

Ruben was a key figure in the Dandakaranya Special Zonal Committee and formerly headed the South Bastar Division Committee. He is believed to have orchestrated several high-profile attacks, including the 1988 Gollapalli Maraiguda ambush that killed 20 CRPF personnel, the Yatiguta attack the same year, resulting in the deaths of 8 police officers, the 1990 assault on the Taralaguda police station.

In 1991, Ruben was arrested by Chhattisgarh Police but managed to escape from custody, an incident that later became known as the "Jagdalpur Jail Break."

Authorities are expected to interrogate Ruben extensively to gather intelligence on Maoist networks and operations.
