Patna, Apr 21: Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Tuesday, marking his first official interaction with the Prime Minister since assuming office on April 15. The meeting is seen as a significant step in strengthening coordination between the Centre and the newly formed Bihar government.
Following the meeting, Choudhary shared a post on his official X account, expressing gratitude to the Prime Minister and highlighting the importance of the interaction. “Today, a courtesy meeting was held with the illustrious Prime Minister of the country Narendra Modi in New Delhi. Guidance was received on the vision of a ‘Developed India’ and a ‘Prosperous Bihar’. The affection and cooperation of the Prime Minister are providing new momentum to Bihar’s progress,” he wrote.
Photographs of the meeting, shared by both the Prime Minister’s Office and the Chief Minister, showed the two leaders greeting each other warmly. Sources indicated that discussions centered on Bihar’s current situation and strategies to accelerate development initiatives. Governance, Centre-state coordination, and the implementation of key schemes were also part of the agenda.
Notably, this marks the first time that a leader from the BJP’s quota has assumed the office of Chief Minister in Bihar. Choudhary took his oath at the Bihar Lok Bhavan on April 15, with Prime Minister Modi congratulating him shortly afterward and expressing confidence in his leadership.
Since taking new charge in office, Choudhary has been actively engaging in governance. On his second day as Chief Minister, he visited Takht Sri Harmandir Ji Patna Sahib, offering prayers for peace, harmony, and prosperity in Bihar. The Gurudwara Management Committee honored him with a ceremonial sword, a stole, and a ‘Saropa’ (robe of honour).

On Monday, Choudhary also participated in the Bharatiya Janata Party Mahila Morcha’s ‘Jan Akrosh Mahila Sammelan’ in Patna, organized to express support for the Women’s Reservation Amendment Bill.
