RSS Celebrates 100 Years Of Service On Vijayadashmi

Nagpur, Oct 2: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) celebrated its centenary year and a grand Vijayadashami event at its headquarters in Nagpur on Thursday, officials said.


The occasion saw the presence of former President Ram Nath Kovind as chief guest, alongside RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and thousands of swayamsevaks from across the country and abroad.

Honoring Legacy and Service
Former President Kovind praised the RSS for its enduring commitment to nation-building and humanitarian service. He described the organization as a symbol of dedication and sacrifice, especially during times of crisis such as earthquakes, floods, and pandemics. “RSS swayamsevaks have never stepped back from serving the nation,” he said.

RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat paid tribute to the organization’s founder K.B. Hedgewar and emphasized the unwavering resolve of swayamsevaks who continue to uphold the pledge taken on Vijayadashami in 1925. He reiterated the Sangh’s motto of “Nation First” and its role in rescuing countless lives during emergencies.

A Global Gathering
Distinguished guests from across the country and abroad have been invited to watch the ceremony which include route march, shastra poojan and physical demonstrations by swayamsevak in Nagpur. The centenary celebration drew over 21,000 swayamsevaks and more than 60 international delegates. Maharashtra’s Chief Minister and several Union Ministers also attended the event. The Sangh’s branches across India were commended for their continuous efforts toward realizing the vision of an Aatmanirbhar Bharat.

Future Vision
In a related ceremony held in New Delhi, a special postal stamp and coin were unveiled to mark the centenary. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing the event, stated that the RSS aims to contribute toward building a prosperous India by 2047.
