Bhubaneswar, Dec 27: After a day's break, rain is likely to cause further difficulties in parts of Odisha as the India Meteorological Department has predicted light to moderate rainfall on December 28 and 29.

Rainfall will occur in the north and north-western parts of the State. Farmers have been badly affected by incessant rainfall in the last few days.

Paddy plants, which were cut just before rains, could not be taken to harvesting ground due to the downpour. Farmers are still struggling to collect crops from the fields after the rain.

The unseasonal rain has broken the backbone of the farmers.

Farmers in affected areas have demanded that the government assess crop damages and compensate them early.
