Puri, Sept 2: Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Shaktikanta Das is in Puri to take blessings of the Holy Trinity -- Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra.
Shaktikanta Das arrived at Puri Monday to seek blessings of the Holy Trinity. Das was greeted with a warm reception by the Srimandir Administration, District Administration as well as servitors.
Das, first person from Odisha to be appointed as the RBI Governor, is reportedly on a four-day visit to the state. He is scheduled to attend various events during the visit.
Shaktikanta Das, born in Bhubaneswar, was schooled at the Demonstration Multipurpose School in the Capital City. He obtained his bachelor's (BA) and master's degrees (MA) in history from the St. Stephen's College, Delhi. Das was awarded D.Litt. by Utkal University in 2021.

✨The 67-year-old from Odisha has served in various positions for both the Government of India and the Government of Tamil Nadu, like as Principal Secretary (Industries), Special Commissioner (Revenue), Secretary (Revenue) among others.
Post his retirement from the IAS (1980 batch of Tamil Nadu cadre), Shaktikanta Das was appointed a member of the 15th Finance Commission by the ACC. He was also appointed as India's Sherpa to the G20 by the ACC.
Das resigned from his position in the 15th Finance Commission after he was was appointed Governor of the RBI by the ACC December 11, 2018 for a period of three years, replacing Urjit Patel.
