Murmu recited 'Misu Mora Deha E Desha Matire, Deshabasi Chali Jaantu Pithire; Deshara Swarajye Pathe Jete Gada, Mishu Tahin Padi Mora Mansha Hada", meaning Let my body mingle with the soil of this country and let people move on the back; Let my flesh and bones fill the ditches in the country. Murmu also translated the Odia poetry into Hindi.
