Bhubaneswar, Dec 5: President Droupadi Murmu arrived here Thursday morning from Puri and she is scheduled to attend multiple events in the capital city.

President Murmu will attend the 40th Convocation Ceremony of Odisha University of Agricultural and Technology (OUAT) as the Chief Guest. She will be joined by Deputy Chief Minister as well as the Minister of Agriculture and Farmers' Empowerment, Energy KV Singh Deo at the event.

She is also scheduled to inaugurate the new Judicial Court Complex in Bhubaneswar later in the day.

On Wednesday, President Murmu graced the Navy Day celebrations, being organised by the Indian Navy, as the Chief Guest at the Blue Flag Beach in Puri.

Besides the President, Odisha Governor Raghubar Das, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, other Ministers, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh K Tripath along with military dignitaries were present on the occasion.

The Indian Navy conducted a mega Operational Demonstration (Op Demo) as part of Navy Day 2024 celebrations off the coast of Puri to showcase its might and prowess.

Aiming to highlight the Navy’s capabilities and its dedication to protecting India’s maritime interests, the event demonstrated aerial manoeuvres by MiG-29K and Hawk fighter jets, combat exercises by MARCOS, submarine operations, amphibious landings, and rocket firing from warships.

The event marks the anniversary of Operation Trident, a critical naval offensive during the 1971 Indo-Pak War.

Earlier in the day, President Murmu graced the 75th anniversary celebration of Gopabandhu Ayurveda Mahavidyalaya in Puri. 

It was after she visited Shree Jagannath Temple to have darshan of the holy trinity -- Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra -- and perform puja.
