Speaking on the occasion, the President said that universities established with the objective of social justice must also work at the grassroots level to improve education, health, skill development, livelihoods, and forest rights of tribal people. She expressed confidence that the university would make meaningful contributions to the holistic development of marginalized youth and the overall progress of the region.

✨The President stressed that tribal universities should
innovate to enhance livelihoods by promoting productive work in areas such as
forest produce, handicrafts, millets, medicinal plants, eco-tourism, and local
entrepreneurship. She noted that convocation ceremonies mark a milestone in
students’ lives, urging them to focus on skill development, practical learning,
and community engagement to remain relevant in a rapidly changing environment.

Murmu emphasized the importance of staying connected to heritage while extending the benefits of modern science to all sections of society. She pointed out that the university’s ‘Science and Technology Hub’ is empowering tribal communities in North Andhra Pradesh, with initiatives spanning tribal welfare, public health, climate change, food and nutrition security, and energy conservation.
She reiterated that India’s goal of building Viksit Bharat by 2047 requires inclusive and practical teaching methodologies that integrate environmental conservation with modern education. The President expressed hope that the Central Tribal University will play a significant role in achieving this vision by equipping tribal youth with skills and confidence to contribute to equitable national development.
