New Delhi/ Bhubaneswar, May 2: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Friday released an English book, titled 'Demographic Contestations And Legislative Process In India', written by Joint Secretary of Rajya Sabha Dr. Raghav Prasad Dash.

Pradhan opined that the book would act as a catalyst in the development of democracy.

"The Indian Parliament is the real temple of democracy that plays multiple roles. It is not only limited to making laws, but it also acts as a medium of making people's voices reach the right people in the system. I learned this from Atalji when first came to the Parliament," said Pradhan.

Pradhan said the book will keep inspiring people in the coming generations. He thanked Dr. Dash for writing a book that would have a remarkable contribution to making people easily understand the parliamentary process of India.

Stating that democracy was greatly understood due to the Constitution prepared by Dr BR Ambedkar, Pradhan said, "On such a subject, a document has been prepared in a simple and fluent language and given the form of a book, which is commendable. This work will serve as a valuable resource for students and faculty of public policy by providing information about the development and functioning of the Indian Parliament."
