New Delhi, Jan 24: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will distribute more than 61,000 appointment letters to newly recruited youth across various government departments and organisations at the 18th edition of the Rozgar Mela on Saturday, officials said.

The Prime Minister will address the gathering through video conferencing.

The Rozgar Mela, a flagship initiative of the Union government aimed at expanding employment opportunities, will be organised simultaneously at 45 locations across the country. The newly inducted candidates will join ministries and departments including the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the Department of Financial Services, and the Department of Higher Education, among others.

Since its launch, the Rozgar Mela has emerged as a significant platform for recruitment, with more than 11 lakh appointment letters issued nationwide. The initiative is designed to accelerate job creation, strengthen public service delivery, and provide young professionals with opportunities to contribute to national development.

Officials said the large-scale distribution of appointment letters reflects the government’s commitment to empowering youth and addressing employment challenges. The Rozgar Mela also seeks to enhance transparency and efficiency in recruitment processes while ensuring that diverse sectors benefit from fresh talent.

The Prime Minister is expected to highlight the role of young professionals in shaping India’s growth trajectory and reaffirm the government’s focus on skill development and capacity building.
