New Delhi, Oct 22: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Polish counterpart Donald Tusk on Thursday held wide-ranging talks aimed at expanding the India-Poland Strategic Partnership, with a focus on emerging sectors such as defence, artificial intelligence (AI), critical minerals and green technologies.
The meeting, held at Hyderabad House, also saw the two leaders agree to work towards doubling bilateral trade by 2030 and reiterate the significance of the proposed India-European Union Free Trade Agreement (FTA) in boosting economic engagement between India and Europe.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), the discussions built on the Strategic Partnership established in 2024 and explored fresh avenues for cooperation across AI, green technologies, critical minerals and defence. The two sides also reviewed progress in trade, investment, education, culture and people-to-people exchanges.
The MEA said both leaders agreed to intensify efforts to double bilateral trade by the end of the decade and underlined the importance of the India-EU FTA in unlocking new opportunities for businesses and industries.
