New Delhi, Jan 28: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday hailed the National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets as the nation’s “duty-bound youth” while addressing the Annual NCC PM Rally at the Cariappa Parade Ground in Delhi Cantonment, officials said.

PM Modi emphasized the importance of discipline, service, and patriotism, urging young cadets to place the nation above self and embrace their responsibilities with dedication.

The rally marked the culmination of the month-long Republic Day Camp 2026, held under the theme “Rashtra Pratham – Kartavya Nishtha Yuva” (Nation First – Duty-bound Youth). A total of 2,406 cadets, including 898 girls, participated in the event, showcasing the growing role of women in the NCC.

In his speech, PM Modi praised the NCC for nurturing leadership qualities and instilling a spirit of national service among India’s youth. He noted that nearly 40% of the cadets this year were girls, reflecting India’s commitment to gender inclusivity and empowerment.

The rally also witnessed international participation, with 207 youth and officers from 21 foreign countries joining the camp. The Prime Minister highlighted that such exchanges strengthen India’s cultural diplomacy and foster global friendship among young leaders.

The event featured drills, cultural performances, and innovative presentations by cadets, symbolizing the unity and diversity of India. PM Modi reiterated that the NCC is not merely a training ground but a platform for shaping responsible citizens who embody the principle of “Nation First.”

The NCC PM Rally continues to be one of the most prestigious youth events in the country, reflecting the government’s focus on empowering young people to contribute meaningfully to nation-building.
