BJP asserts readiness to respond to any issue in the House.

New Delhi, July 21: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Monday launched a sharp attack on the Congress party, accusing its leadership of deliberately stalling parliamentary proceedings.

On the first day of the Monsoon session today, both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha witnessed adjournments amid sloganeering by the opposition members over various issues including discussion on Operation Sindoor.

Speaking to reporters, Pradhan criticized Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi, stating that Parliament is not their personal drawing room and that all members must adhere to democratic norms and responsibilities.

The Minister alleged that the Congress party is intentionally avoiding meaningful debate in the House and instead choosing to support narratives that align with anti-India sentiments. He claimed that certain Congress leaders show more interest in backing Pakistan and other adversarial forces than engaging in constructive dialogue within the Indian Parliament.

“We want to run the House. This is not the personal drawing room of Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi’s,” Pradhan said. “Everyone must stay within the rules. They are distancing themselves from discussion because they are more interested in supporting Pakistan and anti-India forces.”

The Minister further asserted that the government is ready to respond to any issue raised in Parliament, but the opposition must first be willing to participate in the process. He emphasized that the Congress party’s reluctance to engage reflects a deeper ideological void and a lack of commitment to national interests.

Pradhan’s remarks come amid the disruptions in Parliament today, with opposition parties staging protests and subsequent adjournments of both the Lower House and Upper House.
