✨Adding to the shake‑up, new PAN application forms will replace existing ones. Names on PAN cards will also be strictly aligned with Aadhaar records, ensuring consistency across databases. CSC has urged citizens to complete formalities before the deadline to avoid extra paperwork.
PAN cards are essential for financial and banking transactions, while Aadhaar serves as India’s unique identity number. Applications can be made through Protean (formerly NSDL eGov), UTIITSL, or the Income Tax Department’s e‑filing portal.
Meanwhile, authorities have warned against scams. Fraudsters are circulating fake “download e‑PAN card” emails. The PIB Fact Check has cautioned users not to click suspicious links or share sensitive information.
“Have you also received an email asking you to download an
e-PAN card?” PIB Fact Check said in an X post. “This email is fake... Do not
respond to any emails, links, calls or SMS asking you to share financial and
sensitive information,” it cautioned citizens.
