Kolkata/Bhubaneswar, May 5: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi was appointed central co-observer for the election of the BJP’s legislative party leader in West Bengal, the party announced on Tuesday.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah will act as the central observer for the process, overseeing the selection of the legislative party leader.

Observers Named for Key States
According to a notification issued by the Bharatiya Janata Party, party president JP Nadda has been appointed central observer for the legislative party leader election in Assam, while Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini will serve as co-observer.

After Poll Victories
The appointments come in the wake of the BJP’s victory in West Bengal, where it unseated the All India Trinamool Congress, and its return to power in Assam for a third consecutive term following the Assembly election results declared on Monday.
