The latest incident occurred in Bharaala village, where a woman commuting alone to work was accosted by two unidentified men. She managed to escape after screaming for help, prompting villagers to rush to the spot. However, no suspects were found.
The woman later informed her family that the attackers were not wearing any clothes. Traumatized by the experience, she has since changed her job and route to work. This marks the fourth such incident in recent weeks. Previous cases went unreported due to embarrassment, but villagers now believe the situation has escalated beyond control.
Village chief Rajendra Kumar admitted that initial reports were dismissed, but the repeated targeting of women has created an atmosphere of fear. “We didn’t take it seriously at first, but now the threat feels real,” he said.
