Noida, Sep 8: In a deeply disturbing incident, a 19-year-old youth from Sarfabad village in Noida has been arrested for allegedly murdering his father and spending the entire night beside the body.

The crime, which has shocked the local community, reportedly stemmed from a long-standing property dispute and disagreements over money.

According to police reports, the accused, identified as Uday, attacked his father Gautam (43) with a brick while he was asleep on Saturday night. Uday allegedly struck his father multiple times on the head, leading to his death. In a chilling confession, he admitted to sleeping in the same room next to the body until morning.

The matter came to light when Gautam’s brother filed a complaint the following day, suspecting foul play. Police arrested Uday and registered a case under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at Sector 113 Police Station. Investigators recovered the brick used in the assault and the clothes worn by the accused at the time of the crime.

Officials revealed that Uday had frequent arguments with his father, who often refused to give him money for alcohol and daily expenses. The combination of financial strain and property-related tensions appears to have culminated in the fatal attack.

The incident has sparked renewed concerns about youth mental health, substance abuse, and the need for early intervention in domestic disputes.
