Senior BJP leader Jagannath Pradhan has been granted bail by the Khordha District and Sessions Judge Court in connection with the alleged assault on BMC Additional Commissioner Ratnakar Sahoo. The bail was approved on a surety of ₹30,000, submitted by a guarantor.

 

IPS Reshuffle in Odisha

The Odisha government effected a minor reshuffle among senior IPS officers. Sanjeeb Panda has been posted as the ADG, Anti-Naxal Operations. Akhileshvar Singh will serve as DIG of Police, Special Intelligence Wing, Bhubaneswar. Dr. Kanwar Vishal Singh has been posted as DIG of Police, Southern Western Range, Koraput.

The 43-year-old bridge over the Mahisagar River in Gujarat's Vadodara district collapsed early in the morning, killing at least nine people and injuring several others.
