AI Impact Expo Begins
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the India AI Impact Expo 2026 in New Delhi. The five-day event, held alongside the India AI Impact Summit, showcases artificial intelligence applications. Over 100 countries were invited, and more than two lakh people registered online for the summit.

PM Modi will meet French President Emmanuel Macron in Mumbai tomorrow. The leaders will review progress in the India-France Strategic Partnership and exchange views on regional and global issues. Macron begins a three-day official visit to India to participate in the AI Impact Summit.
Odisha Budget Session
The Odisha Assembly’s Budget session will begin tomorrow and continues till April 8, with a recess from February 25 to March 8. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, who also holds the Finance portfolio, will present the State Budget for 2026–27 on February 20.
Speaker’s Appeal
Ahead of the session, Speaker Surama Padhy today convened an all-party meeting urging cooperation from ruling and opposition members for smooth proceedings. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, BJD deputy leader Prasanna Acharya, and Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader Rama Chandra Kadam attended the meeting held on the Assembly premises.
Fish & Animal Husbandry Fair
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan inaugurated the ‘Fish and Animal Husbandry Fair’ in Sambalpur, Odisha. He distributed benefits of government schemes to beneficiaries and said strengthening the district’s agriculture-based economy is a priority. Special incentives are being provided to make fisheries, dairy, and allied farming profitable.
CBSE Rule
CBSE announced that appearing in the first Class 10 Board Examination is mandatory for all students. Missing three or more subjects in the first exam will make them ineligible for the second examination. Attendance in the first examination is compulsory, the board clarified.
Deal Activity
India recorded 207 deals worth $7.2 billion in January 2026, marking a “measured start” to the year, according to Grant Thornton Bharat. Deal volumes and values eased 11 per cent and 60 per cent month-on-month, though private equity activity remained resilient.
Gold, Silver Prices Fall
Gold and silver prices declined on Monday as the US dollar strengthened after inflation data. MCX gold April futures dipped 0.56 per cent to Rs 1,55,023 per 10 grams, while MCX silver March futures fell 1.99 per cent to Rs 2,39,501 per kg.

India defeated Pakistan by 61 runs in a Group A clash of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup at Colombo’s R Premadasa Stadium. Chasing 176 runs, Pakistan were all out for 114 in 18 overs. India became the second team to qualify for Super Eight.
