New Delhi, Oct 12: In a major political development ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has finalized its seat-sharing arrangement.

 

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, who is also the BJP’s election in-charge for Bihar, announced the details following a high-level meeting at the BJP headquarters in New Delhi.


 

According to the agreement, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Janata Dal (United) will contest 101 seats each in the 243-member Bihar Assembly. Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) led by Chirag Paswan has been allotted 29 seats, while Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) and Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) will contest six seats each.

The meeting was attended by top NDA leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP National President JP Nadda, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, and Minister Nityanand Rai. The seat-sharing formula was finalized after detailed discussions and was welcomed by all alliance partners.

 

Dharmendra Pradhan emphasized the unity and coordination within the NDA, stating that the alliance is fully prepared to secure a historic victory in Bihar.

 

In a tweet, he said, “To ensure BJP-NDA’s historic win in Bihar, our workers are fully energized and committed. On October 15, PM Narendra Modi will directly interact with our booth-level workers under the ‘Mera Booth, Sabse Mazboot’ campaign. This is not just a programme, but a source of inspiration that will boost confidence across all levels.”


 

The announcement marks the formal beginning of NDA’s campaign in Bihar, with all eyes now on candidate selection and grassroots mobilization. With the seat-sharing settled, the alliance is expected to intensify its outreach and campaign activities in the coming days.
