Bijapur, Jun 18: Bijapur district in Chhattisgarh witnessed a brutal Maoist attack, resulting in the killing of three individuals and the abduction of 12 villagers.

The deceased have been identified as Jhingu Modiyam, Soma Modiyam, and Anil Madvi. Reports indicate that they were family members of a surrendered Maoist leader.

The incident occurred in Penthakorma village, where Maoists ruthlessly killed a student along with two others. In addition to the killings, seven villagers were severely beaten and left injured.

Sources suggest that the 12 abducted individuals include relatives of former Maoist leader Dinesh Modiyam. The attack was allegedly carried out by Maoist leader Bheela and his faction on Tuesday evening.

Authorities have launched a thorough investigation into the matter, aiming to locate the missing villagers and curb further violence in the region.
