Bijapur, June 6: Tension prevailed in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur after Maoists torched a truck and blocked hundreds of vehicles on National Highway 63.

According to reports, the incident took place five kilometers from Bhairamgarh on National Highway 63, where Maoists torched a goods truck carrying onions. During the violence, they blocked hundreds of vehicles on both sides of the road for nearly 30 minutes.

Among the halted vehicles was a passenger bus traveling from Jagdalpur to Bijapur, which was seized by the Maoists. The bus passengers and driver were held hostage and interrogated before being released unharmed.
Security Forces Respond

Upon receiving reports of the incident, security forces rushed to the scene, extinguishing the truck fire and securing the area.

The Maoist attack has caused significant distress in the region, with locals expressing concerns over increasing militant activities.
