Prayagraj, Feb 27: The Maha Kumbh was the world's largest religious gathering. After 144 years, people from all over the world came to bathe at the Triveni Sangam. The event started on January 13 and ended on February 26. The biggest crowds gathered on special days like Poush Purnima, Vasant Panchami, Mauni Amavasya, Maghi Purnima, and Maha Shivaratri. Many people gathered at Pratapgarh Junction to catch trains.
Every day, around 800 to 1,000 passengers used to come to Pratapgarh Junction to catch trains, and the revenue was usually less than two lakh rupees.
However, during the Maha Kumbh, the station was packed with passengers day and night. Over two dozen special trains operated from the station, bringing in a revenue of 20 crore rupees, which boosted the railway's earnings.
Revenue Collection Reaches 20.06 Crore
To ensure smooth travel for pilgrims, more than two dozen special trains were operated. Over the past month and a half, 1,67,820 passengers traveled from Pratapgarh Junction to take part in the Mahakumbh bathing. This generated a revenue of ₹20.06 crore for the railways. Railway officials were surprised by the high revenue from Pratapgarh Junction and are happy with the results.

✨Nearly Two Lakh Devotees Secure Tickets for the Journey
Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Lucknow Division mentioned that the revenue from Belha Devi Dham in Pratapgarh Junction has significantly increased in the past one and a half months. It has earned over 20 crore rupees, with nearly two lakh pilgrims traveling by ticket. To assist the pilgrims, more than 20 special trains for the Maha Kumbh were also operated.
Over 66 crore devotees gathered at the Maha Kumbh, setting a world record for the largest religious gathering in history. In just 45 days, more people attended than the combined populations of India and China.This makes the Maha Kumbh the biggest religious event ever!
