Kondagaon (Chhattisgarh), Sep 21: A late-night kabaddi event in Ravaswahi village near the Odisha-Chhattisgarh border turned tragic when a high-voltage 11kV power line snapped during a sudden storm and fell onto the stage, electrocuting several individuals.
The incident occurred in the Kesakal block of Kondagaon district, adjacent to Nabarangpur in Odisha.
The electrified wire struck players and spectators gathered for the match, leaving six people unconscious. Villagers rushed to rescue the victims and transported them to Vishrampuri Hospital using private vehicles. However, doctors confirmed that three individuals had died before reaching the hospital due to severe electrocution.

✨The deceased were identified as: Satish Kumar Netam (24), son of Ratan Netam from Garanjidi village, Shyam Netam (25), son of Ghasiaram from Pande Para, and Sunil Shori (25), son of Ghanpatar from Pande Para
Three others suffered critical injuries and were referred to the district hospital after initial treatment.
The incident has sparked panic in the village. District
Panchayat member Ramcharan Shori has urged the government to provide financial
aid to the families of the deceased and the injured.
