Inspiration Behind Stuffed Teddy Was This President Named "Teddy"

Bhubaneswar, Feb 10: Tracing the origin of 'Teddy day' today, we stumbled upon an anecdote where the 26th President of the United States of America Theodore Roosevelt aka "Teddy" was the inspiration behind the stuffed teddy bear.
In the early 1900s Roosevelt had led a hunting party but unfortunately he could hit no animal despite waiting for hours. To please the President, some of his men tied a bear to a tree for the President to shoot it. But in that time, some wild dogs had injured the bear, witnessing the critical condition of the teddy President denied to shoot it.
The news agencies and media houses projected it as if the President showed compassion on the bear and graced it with life.
