New Delhi, Jul 29: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan addressed the nation at the Akhil Bharatiya Shiksha Samagam 2025, marking the fifth anniversary of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
He emphasized that NEP is the most “crucial pathway to Viksit Bharat,” and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to implementing all its recommendations in full.
Union Minister Pradhan highlighted that India is rapidly progressing and that NEP 2020 was essential to prepare the country for the future. “We’ve successfully connected classrooms and campuses with communities,” he said, adding that the policy has transformed education into a tool for creativity, critical thinking, and innovation.
He likened educators to Dronacharya, shaping Arjunas of tomorrow, and stressed the importance of mother tongue education and skill development. “We are working to increase youth participation in higher education and ensure that every learner is equipped for the 21st century,” he noted.

The Minister also announced that next year’s summit will focus on deeper introspection and planning, setting the stage for the next phase of educational transformation. He praised the growing global recognition of Indian universities, citing their rising presence in QS World Rankings.
The summit also showcased the success of initiatives like Bal Vatika, now operational in nearly every state, and the Academic Bank of Credit, which has onboarded over 2,400 institutions. The Union Education Minister assured citizens that the NEP’s vision — from foundational literacy to digital governance — is being realized across the country.
The event brought together educators, policymakers, and industry leaders to discuss themes like Indian Knowledge Systems, AI in education, and achieving 100% Gross Enrolment Ratio (GER) by 2030.
