Extortion Threat / Indian Batter Rinku Singh Receives Extortion Threat From D-Company!

New Delhi, Oct 9: Batter Rinku Singh who is known for his explosive batting and recent performances in domestic and international cricket has reportedly received a extortion threat.
The development was also confirmed by the Mumbai Branch Police.
According to the investigation, an individual named Naveed sent three messages to Rinku’s promotional team between February and April this year, asking for INR 5 crore.
In his first text, Naveed introduced himself to Rinku as a fan, and requested for Rs 5 Crore. Few days later, he messaged the cricketer, and again demanded the amount. Receiving no response, Naveed sent an ultimatum to Rinku on April 20, concluding with a serious extortion threat linked to a criminal organisation (D Company).
Acting swiftly, two suspects, Mohammed Dilshad and Mohammed Naveed, were arrested from the Caribbean and handed over to the Indian authorities on August 1.
The accused had previously demanded Rs 10 crore from Zeeshan Siddiqui, the son of late MLA Baba siddiqui.
Born and raised in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, Rinku made his international debut in 2024 after his five-sixes feat in the last over during an IPL 2023 game against the Gujarat Titans.
Against Pakistan in the marquee Asia Cup final, Rinku, playing his first game of the tournament, helped India clinch the crown for the record ninth time.
Representing India in the shortest format, Rinku has played 54 T20I matches, scoring 550 runs at a staggering strike-rate of 161.77 and averaging 42.31. In the Indian Premier League, Rinku has played 58 games for three-time winners, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), scoring 1099 runs. He was also part of KKR’s 2024 IPL-winning side.
The cricketer recently got engaged to Member of Parliament (MP) Priya Saroj.
