✨During the gunfight, two terrorists were shot dead. “Two terrorists have been killed in this operation and their bodies are lying on the other side of the LoC after they were shot and they tried to rush back into the Pakistani side,” Army sources added. A search operation is continuing to ensure no other infiltrators are hiding in the area.
The LoC in Jammu and Kashmir stretches nearly 740 km, covering Kupwara, Bandipora and Baramulla districts in the Valley, as well as Rajouri, Poonch and parts of Jammu district.
The Army maintains a multi‑tiered anti‑infiltration obstacle system, including a 550‑km fence, to monitor cross‑border movement, smuggling and militant activity.
High alert remains in LoC sectors such as Rajouri, Poonch, Baramulla and Kupwara, where digital Aadhaar‑based crossing systems are deployed at checkpoints to regulate authorised local movement.
In addition, Jammu, Samba and Kathua districts host a 200‑km International Border guarded by the Border Security Force (BSF).
Both the Army and BSF remain deployed to counter infiltration, exfiltration, smuggling and drone activity, with handlers across the border using drones to drop arms, ammunition, cash and drugs for terrorist networks.
